Natural mica, occurring as muscovite and phlogopite, is renowned for its high-temperature, electrical, mechanical and optical properties. Geotech’s Sunrise mica is a wet grounded mica that occurs as a thin, tough, elastic flakes. Geotech also manufacture a Sunrise Crystal Synthetic Mica, or fluorophlogopite, which is commonly used for cosmetic applications. This is often the product of choice for lipsticks and pressed powders due to its natural sheen, silky feel and ability to block UV radiation. Sunrise mica is available in a number of different mesh sizes and also in a lauroyl lysine treated grade, Sunrise SVA. This grade benefits from enhanced tactile properties, hydrophobicity and improved durability.
