Mica

This mineral is a white to light grey colour with a very high aspect ratio of 30:1. The temperature performance is high at 900’C and is compatible with various polymers. The most common form of mica is muscovite which tends to be translucent. The other form available is phlogopite which tend to be red-brown in colour. This mineral is a white to light grey colour with a very high aspect ratio of 30:1. The temperature performance is high at 900’C and is compatible with various polymers. The most common form of mica is muscovite which tends to be translucent. The other form available is phlogopite which tend to be red-brown in colour. Both grades can be surface coated giving improved chemical and physical properties. These minerals can be added to thermoplastics, thermosets and coatings to enhance physical and chemical properties.
